FlyQ InSight App Reviews

Okay

Works okay, but not sure how useful it is. Doesnt seem to have a moving map, which I think people would want. A moving map like the Forelight or Garmin iPhone app would be nice.

Works great!

Very handy, great UI, actually switched from ForeFlight.

Tech support

When I first installed the application I was quite frustrated by the lack of support for Canadian pilots but after chatting with a friendly gentlemen at technical support and following his instructions I was able to use the App for planning my trips between my local airports! Great App, it is now my favorite flight planning App. Thanks FlyQ!!!!

Not set-up for Canadian pilots

Missing major GA airport in Canada. Cannot create any flight plan unless registered to DUAT, which requires a FAA license #.

Poor app. Needs redesign

Cant search airports by state. Wow, major shortcoming. Why aopa keeps this low quality app and not updating is a mystery. The old app was a lot better than this junk.

Nice

Like the app!

CFI

Some features do not work with Apple IOS 6. Instant Nearby DUAT weather briefing will not load at all. Flight Plan WX briefing from DUAT is extremely slow to load. Both worked fine with IOS 5. The old discontinued airport directory app was much better than the one in this app.

Use it everyday!

Love the app! Easy to use and everything works. Would like to see NOTAMs and TFRs.

Awesome app!

This is the Swiss Army knife of general aviation. It brings together the airport directory information and current weather is a very useful airport interface and integrates well with the desktop flight planning tool. I wish it had a stronger and faster search engine, and it does seem to drain my iPhone 4 battery when used in flight but its still a very handy resource with a great price tag!

Student pilot.

All I can say is great app!!!

Excellent Application

This is a very useful flight planning application - one of the best that I have seen.

Very handy app!

Lots of useful info! Love having all the AOPA Airports data in my pocket! No need to drag that big directory around with me when flying.

Flyq

Wow ! Great planner and a lot of make it easy features.

FlyQ

Nice App. Still learning it. Has nice features.

FlyQ Suite

This a great app in and of itself. However, it is just 1 of three applications in the FlyQ suite. Together with the FlyQ web (flight planning) and FlyQ EFB (electronic flight bag), I have everything I need in the cockpit and on the ground to safely plan and execute local and cross contry flights.

Excellent!

Couldnt be happier!

Great app!

Student pilot here, new AOPA member, this app alone is justification for joining AOPA. Ton of information all in one place!

Reverse Route

This is a nice little application. I use it on my iPhone mostly for planning leading up to a flight. Practically speaking, the phone format is too small for inflight use. I will switch to the iPad version...eventually. For now my trusty paper sectional is still my favorite tool for VFR flying. Two things need to be fixed: 1) Develop a capability to reverse a route. Currently, you have to rebuild the return leg as a separate flight plan. 2) It keeps defaulting to the fuel value in my settings. Not every flight begins with the same fuel value. We need to be able to customize this for each leg. Otherwise, the fuel calculation is useless, and potentially dangerous if one were to depend upon it. I expect that in a another version or two this will be a 5 star app.

Easy to use

Just used the app for the first time last week during a flight. Love the IFR and VFR weather updates. Easy to use. Worth the membership/download.

A great resource from a great organization!

AOPA continues to respond to the ever changing needs and wants of its members with the release of this app. Well done!
